Traineeship at Insafe, the European Safer Internet network

European Schoolnet is looking for a trainee interested in online technology to support the Insafe team that coordinates the European network of internet safety “nodes” in more than 25 countries.

The person we are looking for will collect and analyse data on ICT use and will be in charge of writing newsletter articles, memos and reports. Moreover, (s)he will be in regular contact with the Insafe national “nodes” in order to monitor network activities and flag events of particular interest. The Insafe trainee will also prepare and participate in training meetings, and contribute to the smooth daily operation of the project. Some travel is involved.
Requirements:
  • graduate level in a related area
  • research experience
  • proficient level of English with good writing and editing skills
  • proven background and interest in media and communication
  • good interpersonal skills
  • independent worker
The six-month placement will carry a monthly subsistence allowance of 1000 euros. The candidate should be able to start immediately.

Who we are: European Schoolnet, a not-for-profit consortium of 31 ministries of education in Europe and beyond, coordinates the European Safer Internet network, Insafe www.saferinternet.org, which aims to empower citizens to use the Internet, as well as other information and communication technologies, safely, ethically and effectively. It is co-funded by the European Commission Directorate General for the Information Society and Media.
