Traineeship at Insafe, the European Safer Internet network

European Schoolnet is looking for a trainee interested in online technology to assist the Insafe team with video production, podcasting and editing. Insafe coordinates the European network of internet safety “nodes” in more than 25 countries.
The candidate we are looking for should have a deep interest and expertise in digital media, and be able to handle podcast and blog creation, to update the content of websites, to manage the production and distribution of electronic newsletters and to have basic knowledge of HTML.

Requirements:

  • Graduate in journalism, communications or other relevant studies
  • proficient level of English with good writing and editing skills
  • to know the basics of video production and other multimedia production
  • experience in video compression, image mixing, Flash animation are plusses
  • A mastery of Photoshop, experience creating photo illustration and the ability to craft multimedia slide shows
  • good interpersonal skills
  • independent worker.

An allowance covering accommodation and transport expenses would be granted. The candidate should be able to start immediately.

Who we are: European Schoolnet, a not-for-profit consortium of 31 ministries of education in Europe and beyond, coordinates the European Safer Internet network, Insafe www.saferinternet.org, which aims to empower citizens to use the Internet, as well as other information and communication technologies, safely, ethically and effectively. It is co-funded by the European Commission Directorate General for the Information Society and Media.
