Rebuilding a European environmental website for young people: your opinion is needed! Author: Alexa Joyce
Young Europeans, teachers and parents have still one week to give their opinion in rebuilding the existing Environment for Young Europeans (EYE) website of the European Commission. Taking the survey on http://eye.eun.org will let you have a say in EYE's future and give you a chance to win one of the many attractive prizes!
The European Commission's DG Environment oversees the project, which started in February 2008. So far over 1,000 students and some 100 teachers in 10 countries in Europe have given their opinions on revamping and evaluating the existing website. On the basis of these results, the new survey tests how the proposed recommendations are assessed by students and teachers alike.
The questionnaire is accessible online on http://eye.eun.org and through the project blog on http://www.eyeproject2008.blogspot.com. It takes less than 10 minutes to fill in and the results will be used to build a new EYE site, which corresponds to the needs and expectations of its target audiences - European youths and educators.
All participants will have the chance to win one of the following prizes: - A telescope - Adoption of one acre of rainforest - Subscriptions to National Geographic magazine in a language of their choice - And many other attractive prizes!
All teachers, parents, and education specialists as well as students aged 11 to 16 years old are welcome to visit the survey and give their input! The survey is open until 31 July 2008.
