The first meeting, chaired by Santi Scimeca, focused on the new eTwinning Portal, which will be launched this autumn. After presenting a number of areas currently under development including new designs and functionalities, the group worked together to compile comments and make suggestions, in preparation of the development phase.
On the second day, Anne Gilleran, provided an overview of a number of central actions, such as the eTwinning Camp, the Professional Development Workshops, the eTwinning Conference and the European Prize Competition. In addition, members of the Monitoring Team for eTwinning presented their work plan for the coming year which includes the analysis of data at European, national and thematic level. The planning of case studies, to be created by each National Support Service (NSS), was also introduced and discussed in detail by the participants.
The third and final meeting, chaired by Alexa Joyce, began with a presentation by Eugenio Rivière, from the European Commission, on survey results from NSS in relation to their collaboration with national Comenius agencies. The rest of the day was then dedicated to group work in a number of communication-related areas, such as: the sustainability of the eTwinning Camp as a European prize; the sharing of best communication practice among and within NSS and CSS; and the identification of interesting networks at European and regional level that could further promote and support eTwinning.
From the EUN team, participants also included Thomas Maier, Christina Crawley, Sylvia Binger, Patricia Wastiau, Conor Galvin and Silvia Spinoso.
The next Working Group meetings will take place in September 2008.
