Development Youth Prize finalists announced Author: EUN News
Following two rounds of evaluation, the finalists of the 2007 edition of the Development Youth Prize have been announced. The highest level grand jury that included representatives from the European Commission's DG DEV and DG EAC, the chair of the European Parliament’s Committee of Education and Culture as well as independent experts in education, art and media has selected one winner and one runner-up from each European member state.
They are all invited, together with their teacher, to come to the prize-giving event that will take place in Strasbourg from 15-17 November 2008. This event is related to the European Development Days which give young people the opportunity to meet important stakeholders in the field of development.
The names of the national winners will only be made public at the prize-giving ceremony; so there is still plenty of suspense surrounding who will be the ones lucky enough to travel to an African developing country at the beginning of 2009.
The next Development Youth Prize competition will be starting in the autumn with new themes and the possibility of winning. Get prepared!
