EUN organises training on eTwinning tools
Author: EUN News

On 21 June, a training session on the eTwinning tools took place at the EUN Office. The National Support Services were invited to get a thorough introduction to the technical functionality and pedagogical use of the eTwinning tools. Almost all National Support Services participated in the session, some even with several participants. In all, 35 national eTwinning coordinators were present.

The training session was divided into two parts, which were both based on the cycle of an eTwinning project. The process from registration to finding partners and collaborating in the TwinSpace was described by technical experts and pedagogical advisors.

The first part was a technical introduction of the tools for registration, partner finding and collaboration through mails, chats, forums, folders, etc. New features for sharing learning resources and accounting for progress were introduced as tools to show the outcome of a project and account for its development.

The second part was a case study of how three teachers had used the eTwinning tools in their projects. The teachers had very different skills and ambitions for their projects, and had made use of the tools in different ways. This pedagogical introduction to eTwinning gave a broad indication of how eTwinning may be used in a teaching context, and how the tools can be used by teachers with differing skills and needs.

The session was videotaped (in English only, Quicktime video, 95 Mb).
