Author: EUN News
Professional Development workshops were held in Scotland on 23-25 February 2006 and in Germany on 9-11 March 2006. In total, 150 teachers attended the two workshops. The workshop in Scotland focused on presenting eTwinning to teachers of foreign languages, the workshop in Germany focused on teachers from various disciplines.
The workshop on 23-25 February took place in the historic city of Edinburgh and was organised jointly by the Central Support Service (CSS), EUN and the UK National Support Service (NSS), the British Council. The German workshop was organised in co-operation with the German, national Support service, Schulen ans Netz and took place in Bonn.
The format of the workshops combined a series of presentations on various aspects of the eTwinning process and action, together with a series of practical workshops to engage the participants in practical aspects of the tools and processes involved in forming an eTwinning partnership.
The workshops were carried out by a team of three from the CSS, Anne Gilleran, Brigitte Parry and Nuria de Salvador in Scotland and Anne Gilleran, Thomas Maier and Sylvia Binger in Bonn. Two members of the Pedagogical Advisory Group (PAG) addressed the workshops, Conor Galvin in Edinburgh and Bettina Zeilder in Bonn.
The next workshop will take place in Prague, Czech Republic on the 23-25 March 2005 with a specific audience of teachers of Science and Maths. The four remaining workshops will be in Athens, Paris, Lillehammer, Norway and Vienna between April and June 2006.
