ESLN third conference in Rome
Author: EUN News
The third working conference of the European School Leadership (ESLN) network, took place on 16-18 March 2006 in Fiuggi, Rome. The event marked the start of Module 3 of the online professional development programme for school leaders.
Fifty five school leaders from 15 European Countries attended the successful workshop on the Leadership of Change in an Emerging Europe.
The programme built on the online materials for this module, with input from Professor John West Burnham, University of Manchester, Anne Gilleran from EUN, Dr Maria Szabo - University of Budapest, and Professor Petros Pashiardis, University of Cyprus together with leadership experts from Sweden, and the Netherlands.
One of the aims of this meeting was to facilitate the formation of groups who would work online together on the materials and focus on one area of change they would like to implement in the own school situations. During the conference, 13 working groups were formed and they will continue to work online until next September, producing a common document on their experiences of managing change. Their work will be facilitated by the ESLN consortium team in the forums and the ESLN blog at http://blog.eun.org/esln
The ESLN course supports and facilitates an emerging network of school leaders interested in creating a community of practice, which adopts trans-national perspectives on educational leadership issues.
