European Schoolnet kicks off eLearning Awards 2006

European Schoolnet launched mid-April, the eLearning Awards 2006 website. EUN is organising the event for the 6th consecutive year and this year the competition will culminate in a ceremony that will take place during European Schoolnet’s 10th Year Anniversary celebration and EMINENT Conference in Brussels in December 2006.

The eLearning Awards is a competition for schools involved in innovative content development and collaboration using ICT which has attracted thousands of entries from schools in over 40 countries in Europe since 1999. Entries to the 2006 Awards are submitted from April to 30 September 2006.

Last year’s competition received almost 800 entries from over 30 countries, the prize giving ceremony took place on occasion of the EMINENT conference held in Paris in December last year. “Daring Reporters” from IES Ronda in Lleida, Catalonia won the top category Young Digital Poland Award for best use of ICT.

This year entries will start as of the mid-April until mid-October 2006, on the website, schools will be able to submit their projects for the competition.

The Headline Platinum Partner of the whole event will be Young Digital Planet (former Young Digital Poland) for the third time.

The aim of the competition is to promote the use of ICT in education and to encourage schools to collaborate.
