During the summer months two sets of publications, relating to eTwinning have been published, the eTwinning Book titled ‘Learning with eTwinning’ and the first in the series of papers produced by the Pedagogical Advisory Group on ‘Reflections on eTwinning’.

The eTwinning book ‘Learning with eTwinning’ is a review of the best project for the school year 2005/2006. It contains descriptions of project results, products and methods elaborated by schools in eTwinning. It also contains models for collaboration to be copied by schools.

The Pedagogical Advisory Group book series entitled Reflection on eTwinning comprises of a number of analytic and theoretical papers on the pedagogical aspect of eTwinning.  The role of the Pedagogical Advisory Group is to analyse, reflect and comment on the eTwinning activities and develop a theoretical framework for the eTwinning action.

This series will comprise initially of 3 booklets. The first is already available and the second will be available in October. The third will be published in 2007. Each book, in this series, is a limited edition of a thousand copies published in English.

Collaboration in eTwinning and enrichment of eTwinning project
These papers form a reflective basis for eTwinning and underpin the benefits for teachers, pupils and parents when a school becomes involved in an eTwinning project.  The paper on collaboration examines the positive aspect of collaboration not only between schools but also within schools. It also includes a practical examination of such aspects of eTwinning as the potential for authentic learning, the use of Technology and the European Dimension. It highlights the necessity for collaboration to become a linchpin for a school’s pedagogical approach.

Pedagogical issues in eTwinning
This book, which will be available as of October assesses the challenges to schools involved in partnerships with other schools in Europe. It also examines pedagogical models which are worth considering in the context of eTwinning. This is the first time that a close examination of the potential of various pedagogical models in the context of European collaborative work has been undertaken and it form a useful basis for the analysis of school programmes.

All these publications will be available in PDF format for download from the Central Portal for eTwinning.
