EUN submits proposals for extension of eTwinning services
Author: EUN News

Over the summer, European Schoolnet has submitted a proposal to the tender for an extra contact for eTwinning (2006-2007). It concerns the extension of the Central Support Services for eTwinning provided by EUN for the year 2006-2007. The additional services covered in the proposal include organising eTwinning development workshops for teachers, an eTwinning camp and eTwinning publications. Also a further set of eTwinning events are suggested such as the eTwinning Annual Event and an eTwinning Week.

The additional services covered in the proposals include organising eTwinning development workshops for teachers, an eTwinning camp and eTwinning publications. Also a further set of eTwinning events are suggested such as the eTwinning Annual Event and an eTwinning Week.

Several of these activities were successful in the year 2005-2006 including the Pedagogical development workshops or the eTwinning camp. In 2005-2006, 10 workshops were carried out successfully, bringing together teachers and school managers to achieve their engagement in the eTwinning action.

The eTwinning camp was also extremely successful and in 2007, the tender proposes, 120 pupils and teachers would fly to a European location for a 4-day camp with the aim to encourage multilateral relationships and enrichment of pupils’ and teachers’ knowledge and understanding of European cultural diversity.

During the CSS-NSS meeting in Vienna on 8 June 2006, it was agreed that it would be beneficial to the eTwinning action to organise in as many countries as possible, eTwinning weeks. The main objectives of the eTwinning weeks would be to get more schools to register and engage in partnerships as well as give more media coverage to the action.
