Author: EUN News
On 19 November 2006, the third professional development workshop of the 2006/07 series took place in Copenhagen Denmark and Malmo Sweden. The workshop
was jointly organised by the Swedish and Danish Nation Support Services (NSS) it began in the Technical University of Copenhagen on day one and on day two participants transfered to Malmo. Discussions focused on collaboration between schools and good practice projects running in eTwinning.
On day one the meeting took place in the Technical University of Copenhagen where participants were welcomed by representative of the two NSS followed by an opening presentation on the theme of collaboration between schools by Pieter Hogenbirk, of the Dutch Inspectoate of Education and chairperson of the Pedagogical Advisory Group (PAG). At the end of the day the group travelled by bus across the fixed link bridge into Malmo, Sweden.
Activities of the second day took place in the IBIS conference centre in Malmo and included presentations of a set of examples of current good practice projects running in eTwinning. On Sunday 19 November, the group crossed the bridge again to Copenhagen and had a quick guided tour of the main cultural sites of the city, before going back to the Technical University for the final working sessions.
More than 100 teachers attended this workshop together with representatives of nine NSS and Anne Gilleran, Thomas Maier and Brigitte Parry were the working team from the CSS. The workshop was aimed at a cross curricular audience who taught pupils from 4 – 18. It was a very successful event with as many as 16 new partnerships being registered during the two days with many more to come.
