First PIC meeting of 2007 in Copenhagen
Author: EUN News
The first meeting of the year of EUN’s Policy and Innovation Committee will be hosted by the Danish Ministry of Education in Copenhagen on 22-23 February 2007. The theme of the meeting is "the challenge of teacher training faced with the need to mainstream ICT use and provide (pedagogical) support to teachers". Also on the agenda will be a follow up on the reflection and discussions at the EUN Round Table in December 2006.
Contributions are expected on national policy initiatives on the pedagogical use of ICT in teacher training, teachers' perspectives on their professional development and research results of training of teachers in ICT use.
Amongst the speakers, Ulla Gjørling, from UNI-C, will talk about using portfolios as an assessment method for ICT in initial teacher training in Denmark and Bert Jaap van Oel from the Dutch Inspectorate will talk about ‘It clicks' a recently finished project in which teachers were asked to reflect on their professional development in relation to what they considered successful use of ICT.
There will also be discussion of two surveys carried out in preparation for the December 2006 EUN Round Table. The surveys gathered the views of nearly 500 teachers and policy-makers on education futures. Together with the round table inputs and discussions, they help lay the foundations for the future work of EUN.
The meeting takes place in conjunction with the first meeting of the P2V project in order to maximise synergy and peer learning between the two activities.
