Professional Development Workshop in Finland

The seventh professional development workshop of the 2006/07 series took place in Helsinki, Finland on 12 – 14 April 2007. 81 participants from 19 countries came together for this workshop; the theme of the meeting was vocational education.

The participants were welcomed on the first day by Pirjo Väyrynen, from the Finnish National Board of Education, who spoke to the participants of the importance of eTwinning for the students of vocational subjects as it gave them to opportunity to broaden their horizons on a personal and professional level.

The participants enjoyed the practical workshops and the opportunity for networking with each other. Several new eTwinning projects were registered during the two days. From the CSS, Anne Gilleran presented eTwinning in the context of education change in Europe and Christina Crawley gave a presentation on the by the eTwinning Portal. They both also ran a practical workshop in the use of the eTwinning tools.

The Pedagogical Development workshops are aimed at teachers who want to learn more about eTwinning and develop their skills in European collaboration using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The workshops bring together participants from different European countries to network and share experiences.
