Author: EUN News

The EUN Office organised two workshops at the second European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning (EC-TEL'07) which took place on 18 September 2007 in Sissi, Crete, Greece. The first workshop was on Learning Object Discovery and Exchange (LODE'07) and the second on Social Information Retrieval for Technology-Enhanced Learning (SIRTEL07).

The LODE workshop was the first in its kind and allowed 32 participants to discuss issues and innovative approaches for unlocking the educational content hidden in repositories and facilitating the retrieval and exchange of this content. The workshop was organised by David Massart and Jean-Noel Colin from the EUN Office.

EUN also co-organised a workshop on Social Information Retrieval for Technology-Enhanced Learning (SIRTEL07). There were 20 participants discussing how "social" can help in discovering resources, this is how recommender systems and social navigation can be adapted into pedagogical context to help teachers and learners find more suitable resources. The workshop was organised by Riina Vuorikari from the EUN Office and KUL, Nikos Manouselis from Athens University and Erik Duval from KUL.
