eTwinning Professional Development Workshop Nottingham
Author: EUN News
The second Professional Development Workshop of the year took place on 26 – 28 October 2007 in the National Centre for School Leadership, Nottingham, UK.
The workshop had a specific target audience consisting of members of national, educational inspectorates, regional educational authority representatives, in-service teacher trainers, ICT regional coordinators and policy makers.
Seventy eight participants from twenty one countries enjoyed a programme aimed at informing and raising awareness of the eTwinning action and its educational potential for enhancing the delivery of the school curriculum.
Anne Gilleran, from the EUN Office, represented the Central Support Service (CSS) and introduced eTwinning. Dr Baldev Singh gave a presentation on the topic of ‘ICT, the international dimension and eTwinning’, while Mr Alan Cowie of the UK National Support Service (NSS) introduced the eTwinning portal and tools.
The participants followed a number of practical workshops and were presented with two case studies in eTwinning - one from primary and another one from secondary level. The response of the group to the eTwinning action was a positive one. It was felt by the NSS present that there should be further workshops aimed at this target group.
