ESLN meets in Budapest

The European School Leadership Network (ESLN) consortium group met in Budapest on the 21 May 2005 to discuss the further implementation on Module 2 of the professional development course for European school leaders.

The ESLN is a project to build a network of school leaders who take part in a series of courses in European School Leadership. The project started in October 2004 and the last of the three modules will be completed in November 2006.

At the Budapest meeting, Anne Gilleran represented European Schoolnet, together with Professor John West Burnham from the University of Manchester, Professor Petros Pashiardis, University of Cyprus, Bosse Anderson from the Swedish School Development Agency, Skoluveckling, Rinnie Van der Horst from ISIS group in the Netherlands and Jan Gispen representing ESHA. The Hungarian partner, the National Institute for Public Education, KOVI,  was represented by Dr Maria Szabo.

The group were honoured by the presence of two guests from KOVI, Tibor Baráth, director and Zsuzsanna Nyírő the international coordinator. Mr Baráth welcomed the group and spoke about the centrality of a development course and network such as the ESLN in the future development of School leadership in Hungary. The group then went on to discuss the format of the forum moderation for the participants in Module 2.  The discussion then moved on to  the planning arrangement for the forthcoming working conference for the participants, which will take place in Budapest 22 –24 September 2005.

22 – 24 September 2005 – Working conference for the ESLN course participants
19 December 2005 – Project planning meeting – Brussels.
