Spring Day national liaisons meet in Austria

This year, a group of representatives from most European Ministries of Education complements the work done by the 31 Spring Day pedagogical advisors. This group met for the first time during the EMINENT conference in Prague to receive thorough information about the project they would help to promote and disseminate in their own countries. The second meeting took place in Vienna - Austria on 7 January 2005 and was followed by a general Spring Day teachers meeting

This meeting gave many people unique opportunities to discuss and harmonise communication plans at national level. Many operational ideas were shared and gave the group an insight into the challenges of European educational projects in the different countries represented.

To mention only a the few ideas that came up during the meeting: a roadshow will be organised in Hungary, a Spring Day Festival will take place in Austria, Slovenia organises four competitions, Poland a concert, a competition and several other events. Belgium opts for the matching of 50 official personalities with 50 schools for debates on the European Constitution. The Czech Republic launches a competition and Spain links the 11 year-old Euroscola competition to Spring Day around activities aimed at learning about European issues.
