INSAFE Plus: Internet Safety Awareness for Europe
Author: Janice Richardson

The INSAFE Plus project aims at setting up a network of national Safer Internet awareness nodes, and implementing coordination instruments that will ensure its long-term sustainability. The project strives to strengthen and raise the visibility of Safer Internet actions across Europe, as a means of empowering citizens to use Internet safely and effectively. It is led by European Schoolnet, in partnership with the Cyberspace Research Unit of the University of Central Lancashire (UK).

INSAFE Plus will essentially:

  • Facilitate the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and resources
  • Develop re-usable training strategies for optimal awareness-raising impact
  • Implement long-term assessment strategies to circumvent emerging risks, monitor public awareness and measure awareness-raising impact,
  • Develop a trilingual portal to serve as a central hub to information, tools and services and an exchange platform between key players across Europe and beyond.
  • Publish a monthly newsletter to inform citizens across the world of emerging Internet safety risks, the impact of awareness actions and the latest developments in the field.
